A CRA expert was retained by a global intellectual property management company to provide a valuation for the company’s 2G, 3G and LTE standard essential patent portfolios. The patent portfolio had originally been developed by a global handset and telecom infrastructure company and sold to the client. The Market Approach was used to determine the valuation which ultimately resulted in setting FRAND royalty rates for the portfolio.
