A CRA expert was retained by a developer and manufacturer of innovative solar energy solutions for residential use to provide a patent valuation of the company’s solar inverter technology that applies to conversion of direct current to alternating current (DC to AC) power signals. A Market Approach was used to determine the value of the patent portfolio under different scenarios. The client used the patent valuation to evaluate a potential patent sale and other patent monetization opportunities.
