CRA’s Fiona M. Scott Morton and Christian Michel have won at the Concurrence 2026 Antitrust Writing Awards.
The awards recognize outstanding scholarship and advocacy in antitrust law and economics.
Christian Michel, a principal in the Antitrust & Competition Practice, won Readers’ Choice in the category of General Economics. He co-authored “Estimating industry conduct using promotion data.” The article isolates sources of market power in the ready-to-eat cereal industry, using a structural econometric model to analyze how competition has evolved over time.
Fiona M. Scott Morton, a senior consultant to the Antitrust & Competition Practice, was the Cross-Border winner. Her co-authored piece, “Are competition authorities equipped to combat entrenched digital monopolies? Lessons from US and EU cases against Google,” questions whether competition authorities in the United States and European Union are capable of restoring lost competition.
Four CRA consultants and academic affiliates were nominated for the 2026 Awards. The winners were announced at the Awards Ceremony on March 24, 2026, during the ABA Antitrust Spring Meeting in Washington, DC.
We are proud of our authors for their contributions, which help shape current and future decisions and policies.
