Two years after the creation of the Unified Patent Court (UPC) in Europe, the use of expert witnesses by parties in UPC proceedings has remained limited.
However, expert evidence on economic issues is likely to become increasingly important for UPC proceedings in the near term. CRA consultants Andrew Tepperman, Taylor Rubinato and Amy Rowe co-authored an article for Law360 titled, “Prospects and Challenges for Expert Evidence at the UPC,” examining the role of economic and industry expert testimony in UPC cases involving life sciences companies.
