Aileen Thompson
Aileen Thompson is an accomplished economist with extensive experience leading economic analysis for antitrust investigations across a diverse array of industries, including hospitals, supermarkets, pharmaceuticals, and consumer products.
From 2014 to 2025, Dr. Thompson served as Assistant Director in the Bureau of Economics at the Federal Trade Commission, following a decade as Deputy Assistant Director. In these roles, she oversaw economic support for expert witnesses in major FTC antitrust litigations.
Her research has appeared in publications such as the International Journal of the Economics of Business, the Journal of International Economics, the Canadian Journal of Economics, and Canadian Public Policy. Dr. Thompson earned her PhD from the University of Michigan.
