Anis Marrakchi

Principal

Anis Marrakchi is a principal at Charles River Associates’ European Competition Practice in Paris, France.

He is a graduate engineer from École Polytechnique, holds a Master’s degree in Statistics and Economics from the École Nationale de la Statistique et de l’Administration Économique (ENSAE), and a Master’s degree in Public Affairs from Sciences Po Paris. Prior to joining CRA, Anis was a high-level public servant at the French Treasury, where he led the unit in charge of industrial policy, state aid, and innovation before being appointed as Chief Economist and Head of Research at the French Debt Management Office.

Anis’s experience covers high-profile antitrust investigations (mergers, cartels, abuse of dominance), State aid, Foreign Subsidies Regulation, trade defence instruments, damage evaluation (follow-on of competition cases or commercial damages cases), and financial markets litigations. He is also experienced in matters involving surveys, survey design, and methods. He advises companies active in a wide range of sectors, including financial markets, industry, transportation, distribution, media, online search and advertising, digital, and AI.
