Chris Ferguson | Risk Investigations Analytics | Charles River Associates

Chris Ferguson is a vice president in the Risks, Investigations & Analytics Practice of CRA.

Chris has 20 years of experience advising clients on their most sensitive matters and is an intelligence gathering and investigations expert. He specializes in conducting research in high-risk jurisdictions where local politics and geopolitics plays a critical role in his clients’ activities. Chris has particular experience conducting assignments in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Former Soviet Union.

Much of his work is within the legal field. He has conducted hundreds of assignments helping general counsels and their advisors with intelligence and evidence-gathering during arbitration, cross-border litigation, internal investigations, sanctions, CFIUS, and FCPA-related issues. Clients value his ability to gather insights and evidence that directly informs their legal strategy.

Chris also works in a more commercial capacity. He helps companies assess and realize business opportunities by providing independent insights and on-the-ground intelligence that informs C-suite decision making. This includes in an M&A context, during major tenders, assessing market opportunities, and helping independently evaluate investment hypothesis.

Chris’ clients straddle Europe and the US and across multiple sectors, many of which are in highly regulated industries. With energy, mining, commodities trading, defense and engineering among the more active.

Before joining CRA, Chris spent 18 years at a leading global risk consultancy, including eight years in Washington, DC, where he co-founded the firm’s US business. Before that, he worked in the Lloyds of London offshore energy market. Chris has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics & Public Policy from Leeds Beckett University.
