Lance Mathews is a principal in the Forensic Services Practice at Charles River Associates with more than 14 years of experience providing digital forensics, data analytics, cybersecurity incident response, and technical expert support in complex, data intensive disputes.
His work informs investigations, regulatory matters, and litigation involving cybersecurity incidents, consumer data protection, software development failures, and intellectual property misuse. Mr. Mathews has served as a testifying expert and 30(b)(6) fact witness and regularly supports counsel through expert reports, declarations, and mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation services.
Lance is adept at enterprise investigations, system and data flow modeling, transactional data analytics, cybersecurity, and application vulnerability assessments. He leverages project management principles and advanced programming, scripting, and data manipulation tools to deliver comprehensive solutions across industries. Lance has served as case manager and/or analytics lead on more than 50 consumer class action cases. He has provided expert opinions and performed complex analyses involving consumer data and highly technical disputes, including matters arising under the TCPA, BIPA,DCFA, CIPA, HIPAA, and GLBA.
Mr. Mathews holds the Project Management Professional (PMP), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE), and the Access Data Certified Examiner (ACE) certifications.
