Intellectual Property Practice Vice President Julia Rowe was engaged in an ITC Section 337 investigation to analyze the economic prong of the domestic industry and bond-related topics on behalf of the complainant, a leading medical device company.
CRA’s client was seeking to block a European supplier from importing devices infringing its patents covering balloon sinus dilation technology.
Ms. Rowe submitted an expert report, was deposed, and testified in this matter.
An Initial Determination by the Administrative Law Judge found that the complainant had established a domestic industry under the economic prong for its patented articles based on the testimony of Ms. Rowe. Furthermore, the respondent’s accused products were found to infringe the asserted patents, and CRA’s client was awarded a bond consistent with Ms. Rowe’s opinions.
