Gold Reserve Inc. v. Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela investor-state ICSID arbitration

James Burrows testified for the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in an ICSID case brought about by Gold Reserve Inc., a Canadian gold mining company, for claims totaling $1.735 billion plus interest. The claims related to Gold Reserve’s rights to develop the Brisas gold and copper mining project in Southeastern Venezuela, one of the largest undeveloped gold and copper deposits in the world. CRA’s work focused on the valuation of the Brisas project for Venezuela.
