Demonstrating compliance with Illinois Equal Pay Registration Certificate requirements

CRA’s Labor & Employment Practice was retained to assist a client in complying with Illinois’ Equal Pay Registration Certificate (EPRC) requirements. Drawing on extensive analytical expertise and experience from prior EPRC engagements, the team helped the client navigate evolving reporting requirements and ensure that the underlying data supported the required compliance certifications.

The team identified significant data preparation issues that could have affected the client’s submission. Many of these challenges stemmed from the nuances of reporting employees with multiple job spells during the reporting year. Working closely with internal subject matter experts, the team developed data-cleaning methodologies and reporting rules to address gaps, improve data quality, and align the submission with the state’s requirements.

Analyses were also conducted to evaluate patterns in the workforce data before submission. The team analyzed the data, both as it would appear in the state’s reporting template, and using additional factors referenced in the compliance statement and supported by labor economic theory. Findings were presented to the corporate officer responsible for certifying compliance, providing an informed basis for the certification.
