CRA consultant Becky Davis was interviewed by the Pharmacy Times at Asembia AXS25 Conference on “Navigating the Evolving Landscape of GLP-1 Medications.”
Davis discussed the transition from obesity-specific opt-in benefits to more standard coverage. She expects that payers will need to handle a wider range of GLP-1 products, necessitating pharmacists to gain expertise in managing complex patient cases and unique medication regimens. Additionally, Davis pointed out the growing variety of GLP-1 medications, including new injectable and oral formulations, which will require pharmacists to understand different management requirements and ensure proper storage.
