Hong Qiao has more than 20 years of experience advising clients involved in disputes and investigations on economic, financial, and accounting issues. Ms. Qiao is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Ms. Qiao has provided expert analysis in matters across an array of industries and before multiple US federal and state courts, the US International Trade Commission (ITC), and multiple international arbitration forums.
Her experience includes quantifying damages related to intellectual property (patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, trademark and copyright infringement) and commercial litigation (e.g., breach of contract, business interruption, tortious interference) and evaluating commercial success, irreparable harm, domestic industry, and other economic issues.
Ms. Qiao also has extensive experience in advising clients on financial reporting and regulatory compliance, analyzing complex financial and accounting data, conducting financial investigations, valuing assets and businesses, and conducting royalty and contract compliance investigations.
Prior to her consulting career, Ms. Qiao worked as a bank examiner at People’s Bank of China. As a consultant, she has advised counsel and provided expert testimony on complex business, financial and data issues involving Chinese companies. Ms. Qiao is a native Chinese speaker.
Ms. Qiao is a regular speaker on trade secret and commercial economic damages, and a co-author of “An overview of trade secret misappropriation damages” in Trade Secret Protection: A Global Guide, edited by Trevor Cook (Globe Law and Business, 2022).
