Kirsten Maw is an associate principal in CRA’s Energy Practice. She has over 15 years of experience in the energy industry and specializes in regulatory compliance and reliability standards.

Ms. Maw advises utilities, government agencies, and energy providers on regulatory strategy and compliance initiatives based on FERC, NERC and ISO regulations. She provides strategic consulting in areas such as compliance assessments, program design, risk management and mitigation, reliability improvements, and policy impacts.

Throughout her career, Ms. Maw has focused on enhancing reliability and security initiatives within the dynamic energy sector, adapting to regulatory changes, technological advancements, and market shifts. She has led compliance assessments, including reliability management strategies and regulatory governance projects for organizations across the US and Canada. She has developed and implemented regulatory compliance program improvements for some of the most complex regulated enterprises. By prioritizing operational efficiency, her risk management expertise has driven practical implementation efforts, resulting in successful organizational transformations.

Kirsten holds a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Political Science from the University of Utah. She also holds professional certificates from the British Standards Institute (ISO 27001 Lead Implementer) and the Association of Change Management.
