ADLC publishes a favourable opinion on the creation of a co-reinsurance group for agricultural climate risks

On 4 September 2025, the French Competition Authority (ADLC) published a favourable opinion on the creation of a co-reinsurance group for climate risks in French agriculture, subject to safeguards regarding the group’s governance and data-sharing rules.

The co-reinsurance group aims to foster the development of climate insurance in agriculture by pooling 65% of insured risks and enhancing the understanding of climate risks through the processing of climate claims data.

A CRA team comprised of Laurent Flochel, Romain Bizet, Adam Samson and Stéphane Sarrazin assisted France Assureurs—the representative body of French insurance and reinsurance companies—during the proceedings.
