CRA’s Labor & Employment team partnered with a leading private research university to conduct proactive analyses of base salary and total earnings for both tenure-track and contract faculty with varying appointment types.
Working collaboratively with the university and faculty representatives, the CRA team helped clarify which additional responsibilities were discretionary and whether compensation for those roles was categorized as base or supplemental compensation. CRA’s economists developed comprehensive statistical models to evaluate whether gender- or racial/ethnic-based differences existed in base salary or total compensation.
CRA continues to support the university on compensation related initiatives.
