Mr. Anant Kumar is a principal in the Energy Practice of CRA with over 20 years of work experience in the energy industry.
Over the course of his consulting career, he has provided market and commercial advisory services to financial and strategic investors on acquisition, sale, and financing of both renewable and non-renewable power generation assets. Mr. Kumar has also advised investor owned utilities and public power entities on integrated resource planning needs and strategic growth initiatives. He has led project teams, managed consulting staff, and directed an extremely diverse set of consulting engagements for some of largest private equity, investment banking, investor-owned utility, law firm, and public power firms.
Prior to joining CRA, Mr. Kumar was Principal and Head of Strategy and Planning Practice at Siemens Energy Business Advisory Experience. In 2016, he was appointed as a Siemens senior key expert in recognition of outstanding technical expertise in power market studies. Prior to consulting, he spent several years in utility operations in the transmission and distribution space having worked with Entergy Corporation, DTE Energy, and the Lower Colorado River Authority. At Entergy, he led cross-functional study teams analyzing interconnection and transmission service requests from merchant generation facilities during the peak development years of the merchant power industry in the U.S. He was also instrumental in development of several key technology solutions that led to significant cost savings while at the same time improving transmission system reliability and security.
