Carlo Lakay is an associate principal in the Forensic Services Practice of CRA.
Carlo has acquired over eight years of experience in Cyber Security and Privacy Advisory, Digital Forensics, and Incident Response. Prior to this, he was also involved in e-commerce and e-gaming (fraud investigation and fraud detection software user acceptance testing and development) and financial administration.
Before joining the CRA team, Carlo worked at PwC Canada as a Manager in the Cyber Threat Operations group. He was responsible for managing and training a team of cyber security resources and building relationships with clients as a trusted cyber security partner.
Prior to that, he worked at PwC South Africa in the forensic technology, cyber security, and forensic investigations solution areas. At this location, he partook in many assignments, including leading a team of ethical hackers/penetration testers, building a Vulnerability Management as a Service (VMaaS) solution, cyber maturity assessment solutions, advanced SIEM proof of concept, detailed cyber peer group learning videos, SAP pen testing development, CSIRT third party training material, commoditized cyber security assessments, cloud security assessments, and cyber incident responses.
Carlo received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Cape Town. He is a certified ISO 27001/2 lead auditor, holds two EnCase certificates, and has experience in penetration testing, incident response and digital forensics, ISMS implementation and cyber security advisory. In addition, he is knowledgeable in Python, Octave/Matlab, Splunk, Linux/Unix, and Corporate Intelligence and Governance.
