Colin Hassett
Colin Hassett is a principal in CRA’s Energy Practice with two decades of experience in utility operations.
Mr. Hassett focuses on advising utilities, regulators, investors, and other stakeholders on a wide range of matters related to utility operations, organizational performance, regulatory strategy, and operational due diligence. Throughout his career, he has held senior roles in both industry and consulting, where he has led utility management audits, supported regulatory proceedings, advised on strategic initiatives, and helped clients improve operational performance and organizational effectiveness.
He has extensive experience leading utility operational assessments and management audits and has worked with electric, gas, and water utilities across North America. His experience includes emergency preparedness and response, transmission and distribution operations, asset management, customer operations, information technology, cybersecurity, capital program management, and performance improvement. He has also supported rate cases, transaction due diligence efforts, and strategic evaluations for utilities and energy infrastructure investments.
Prior to joining CRA, Mr. Hassett held senior consulting roles specializing in utility operations and regulatory support. Prior to that he held a variety of leadership positions at large investor-owned utility where he was responsible for developing and deploying the company’s gas and electric process and performance excellence capabilities, leading emergency response improvement initiatives, business resilience programs, and major electric distribution infrastructure projects and also served in operational, engineering, and system operations roles.
Mr. Hassett holds an MS in Power Systems Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University.
