J. Connor Carroll

J. Connor Carroll is a principal in the Labor & Employment Practice of CRA.
He assists with data construction and statistical analysis for large class action wage and hour cases typically involving claims of meal and rest break violations, rounding, off-the-clock work, regular rate of pay miscalculation, and associated penalties, including the Labor Code Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA). In several key cases with these claims, he was able to reconstruct employees’ workdays using all available pieces of information, such as time clock punches, phone records, building access swipes, GPS coordinates, and email histories, to present comprehensible visual examples of work patterns. He has also conducted labor force audits revolving around various types of regression analysis for pay equity and discrimination matters.
He has worked with clients in a wide variety of industries including retail, finance, education, healthcare, manufacturing, food service, entertainment, and information technology, to collect and organize relevant data, build interactive exposure calculators, prepare for mediation, and provide expert testimony. These matters have ranged from nationwide FLSA issues to state-specific claims with wide behavioral variation between jobs, locations, and labor union groups.
Prior to joining CRA, Mr. Carroll was a director in the Los Angeles office of a consulting firm specializing in labor & employment, where he had worked for over 15 years. Prior to joining, he was a full-time student at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he majored in Mathematics and Economics and graduated in three years with College Honors recognition.
