Gaber Burnik is an economist in CRA’s Antitrust & Competition Practice. He has over a decade of experience in antitrust matters, including mergers and acquisitions, competition and market investigations, and other conduct and abuse proceedings.
Gaber has a track record of delivering impactful, insightful analysis under high-stakes conditions, trusted to guide strategy in multi-jurisdictional cases. His work spans a variety of industries with a focus on financial services, and includes presenting cases before the EC, CMA, DOJ, and more.
He is described by clients and colleagues as an innovative problem solver, anticipating next moves and framing intricate economic analysis into compelling, persuasive arguments. He is precise in his work presenting to agencies and clients, and in mentoring junior staff. Outside of cases, Gaber teaches coordinated merger effects and non-horizontal merger assessment for the Postgraduate Diploma in Economics for Competition Law at King’s College London.
Prior to joining CRA, Gaber worked as a competition economist at the Financial Conduct Authority (the UK financial regulator) as well as the Competition & Markets Authority. He is fluent in English and Slovenian.
